Overall:
Let me start off with the packaging. I love this packaging. It is the perfect balance between fun/trendy and chic/high-end. I love that! It’s also sturdy and expensive feeling and functional.
This mascara is generally really nice. It has great separation. The lashes clump a little bit, but because of the separation you almost can’t even tell. It lengthens fairly well too. It does flake throughout the day though, so be aware of that. Overall this is a really standard nice mascara.

There was one major draw back for me. And this may sound stupid, but it is a reason I am not going to be buying the full size in the future. The actual wand has very spindly curved bristles, and they catch every single lash. Well I always make sure to kind of dig in there and get the base of my lashes coated. The issue is that on top of catching every lash it ALWAYS hit my eye. I used this mascara 5 times, and each and every time the wand touched my eyeball! I am grateful I was only wearing my contacts one of those times. Now I get makeup in my eyes ALL THE TIME, so this should be no big right? but it BURNED SO BAD. I mean normally it startles me a little and inevitably my eyes water up a tad and I have to touch up my eyeliner. But this stuff stung like I was pouring freaking Tabasco sauce in my eyes! It was awful! I BAWLED and I was late work because of it every.single.time.

So if you are not as clumsy as me or you can take the stinging sensation, go for it! Otherwise, I’d personally go with a different option. That is why I gave this mascara a 3 instead of it’s scored deserved 4 stars.

  1. Please feel better that you aren't the only one who gets makeup in her eyes! And you're absolutely right; normally it's just a minor annoyance – nothing you can't move past quickly – but what in the hell is in this stuff??? My eye burned literally for about 4 hours after I accidentally touched it with the wand! It was AWFUL!! I've NEVER experienced anything like that before and am not overly sensitive to products. I returned it (which I never do) because there was NO way I could use it and I didn't feel like I should be stuck with an expensive tube of eye torture. I asked the salesperson if anyone else had said anything about it, and she replied, "only good things". I'm still perplexed by this, which is precisely the reason I looked online to see if anyone else had experienced the same thing. Thank you for sharing. I would have a really hard time believing we're the only people who have a sensitivity to this product (as clearly muriatic acid must be one of it's active ingredients!)

  2. You ladies are not the only one…I bought the duo, the eyeliner and mascara in the blue bag. I have NEVER had something feel like my eyes were literally ON FIRE to the point I had to remove all of my makeup and start over again. I had to go without eye makeup that day since of course I would have been late to work, but just letting you ladies know, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. I wanted to love this so bad, too. I love UD makeup and have a TON of there products. This is the first I have ever had trouble with, so it’s disppointing. The search continues for a high end mascara that will curl, seperate, extremely lengthen (without fibers) and not clump. Any suggestions? I do not use drug store brands.

  3. I also experienced this! I was really excited to try this mascara, but after the first coat my eyes started burning so bad! It was horrible, I literally could not open my eyes for a good 10 minutes without the depths of hell surfacing on my eyeballs!
